To expand the definition of primary care medicine to include assisting our patients in achieving their goals for an optimum self image.
To this end, we will utilize exclusively scientifically-validated methods for our patient services. Full, up to date bibliographies are available for all procedures and products. Often, several techniques may co-exist which achieve the same results. Patient safety and the lowest complication rate possible are our goals. We will inform you of the choices of the interventions available.
Many people are unhappy with the most public part of their body, their face. Acne, uneven pigmentation, brown spots or scars can make one self-conscious. Damage from sun and so-called "expression lines" can also be minimized. Even stretch marks can be reduced significantly by some of the methods we employ. Red lesions and tiny spider veins can be eliminated and their recurrence reduced by other well proven techniques.
BOTOX
Botox is a highly purified
neurotoxin that causes a temporary paralysis of muscle tissue. It was
originally
developed to treat spastic muscles and tics but it has been very
effective
in reducing expression lines such as frown lines or "crow's feet"
without
surgery. It can also treat hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating ) A Botox
injection takes 3 - 7 days to take effect and lasts 2 - 11 months.
After
the muscle begins to recover repeat injections are done until muscle
atrophy
occurs over 18-24 months time.

MICRODERMABRASION
Available in Europe for 12
years, microdermabrasion has become the most sought after method of
skin rejuvenation. It can be used for smoothing scar tissue,
revitalizing sun-damaged skin and treating age spots. Unlike many other
skin rejuvenation treatments, such as deep acid peels and laser
resurfacing, microdermabrasion is
painless to most people. It is a progressive series of treatments which
means no downtime away from work or routine activities. It is often
called
the "lunch time peel" because of it's lack of side effects such as post
treatment redness.

COLLAGEN
Collagen is available as a
jelly
like substance that can be injected into pits and depressions of the
skin.
The vertical lines around the lips and the deep folds between the nose
and the corners of the mouth respond best to this therapy.
Depressed scars
and pock marks can be significantly minimized as well. The duration of
injections is a minimum of 6 months on the average.
SCLEROTHERAPY
Everything from tiny spider
veins to medium size varicose veins can be treated by various
techniques of
sclerotherapy. We offer both injection sclerotherapy and radio
frequency
ablation of enlarged blood vessels depending upon the type of lesion
and
its location.
